I think the Police (and I am not a police officer or related to one) are doing an outstanding job of catching impaired drivers. I do not think all impaired drivers are charged appropriately because of time constraints and I believe those that are charged and are guilty are often not convicted because of the technicality of our laws. I think the laws need to be rewritten so that the guilty can be convicted even while protecting the rights of the innocent. If I was a police officer I would be so disappointed in the legal system that allows so many guilty people to walk free that I would find it hard to stay motivated to do my job. I have great respect for the men and women who work in the community trying to enforce our laws. I just wish the courts would support the work they do.
