In my hand I held a beer
I was dense I didn't hear
They yelled for me to drop my keys
I ignored their many pleas
I got in started the car
My destination was clear the bar
The house got smaller as I sped
Something felt weird My head! My head!
I got dizzy lost control
I looked forward saw a pole
I looked behind driving fast
Somehow I knew that glance was my last
All I saw was a flashing ride
It was a patrol car with my friend inside
I stared at her until I crashed
My ribs were broken my face was smashed
They caught up my friend ran over
She cried while she said "I'll always drive sober"
On that night I said good-bye
Why did I drink why did I die
I'm asking you to be smart and think
Just leave your keys, don't drive and drink
