This song was written by Barry Mathers of the Cruzeros. It is available on their CD El Nino which won the "Best Country Album 2002" from the Canadian Indie Awards.
Members of RRID first heard this song at the Filberg Festival in Courtenay in August 2002. We contacted the Cruzeros who told us this song was written in memory of a young boy who was killed just around the corner from Barry Mathers' home. The boy's family erected a monument of flowers and a cross and every time he drives by the writer is reminded of the tragedy. Although the song was inspired by a real incident, it is fictional.
The Cruzeros have given RRID permission to have this song play on our website. For more information about the Cruzeros visit their website at http://www.cruzeros.com
